Fire, sea and song. Three guests, one island, and a film about women and the wind.
The Magic Coast is a local show that broadcasts on Cape Ann. Voyage 7 opens with an invocation to Thalassa, primordial goddess of the sea, and carries three guests through ritual, art and music.
On the Island: Women & the Wind
On Monday, October 12, Bear Cove Productions and Thalassa Gallery brought Women & the Wind to Cape Ann Community Cinema, closing out Doctober Fest with a celebration of the sea and femininity.
The film follows three women who sail a 50-year-old wooden catamaran across the North Atlantic, documenting plastic pollution along the way. A captivating story, and a subject that moves.
The night opened with a live invocation, and audience members shared their thoughts on the film and the event in the lobby.
