Voyage 3 of The Magic Coast is Now Streaming: Introducing Aspen Ridge as Your Guide Along the Magic Coast
Apr 24
Voyage 3 of The Magic Coast is now streaming on YouTube and airing on 1623 Studios on Comcast…and it marks the beginning of an exciting new journey for this show.
Starting with this voyage, The Magic Coast has a guide: Aspen Ridge.
I first met Aspen over lunch at Fleur Cuisine here in Rockport. Within minutes of that conversation I knew she was the right person to walk alongside the guests of this show. There's something in the way she listens, a genuine interest and relatability that puts people at ease without them even realizing it's happening. Guests open up around her. Stories come out that might not have come out otherwise. That quality is rare and it's exactly what this show needs.
Aspen is a performer, podcast host, and experienced guide who has called Cape Ann home for over a decade after making her way here from the Midwest. She brings both the insider warmth of someone who has fallen deeply in love with this coast and the fresh perspective of someone who chose it deliberately. She is the right voice for The Magic Coast.
In Voyage 3, Aspen sits down with three Cape Ann women whose stories carry the particular beauty of lives shaped by the sea:
Erina McWilliam Lopez, Executive Director of the Cape Ann YMCA, talks about the Y's role in this community and what it means to get outside and active again after a long winter on the Magic Coast. Elisa Vanelli, a local sculptor with a vision as vast as the ocean itself, shares her dream of placing a bronze mermaid off the shores of the Magic Coast, a living landmark that rises and falls with the tide. And Mariella Bozzuto brings us into her world of cold water plunges in Mother Ocean, a practice that is equal parts discipline, devotion, and joy.
Three women. Three stories. All of them shaped by this water. Editing this episode felt like a privilege.
Thank you to Keith Palazolla for his extraordinary camera and drone work, which continues to give this show a visual language worthy of this coastline.

Bring Atlantis Home: My Sacred Work With The TideKeepers Foundation
Some things find you before you fully understand why. When sculptor Elisa Vanelli asked me to document her journey, to follow Atlantis from dream to bronze to shoreline, I said yes before she finished the sentence. And when she asked me to join the Foundation, I knew I was exactly where I belonged.
Elisa is a visionary in the truest sense. She sees what others cannot yet see, and she operates from a place of genuine spiritual devotion that is impossible to manufacture and impossible to ignore. She woke up one morning with a dream: a mermaid resting in stillness, covered by the high tide, revealed by the low and she knew with complete certainty it was real. That kind of knowing is rare and her vision is rearer still. So is someone willing to donate their time and extraordinary skill entirely to bring it to life.
Atlantis The TideKeeper will be cast in bronze and installed at Masconomo Park in Manchester Harbor, a living sculpture that rises and falls with the rhythm of the sea. No other work like her exists anywhere in the world.
For me this is personal. The sea is sacred. This coast deserves a landmark that honors Mother Ocean. And Elisa trusted me with this story… which means everything.
Bear Cove Productions is the documentary partner of the TideKeepers Foundation. We are following Atlantis from dream to reality. If this work moves you, please consider supporting it.
